CENTER FOR URBAN TRANSPORTATION (CUTR)
at the University of South Florida is one of ten Tier I federally-funded University Transportation Centers (UTC). With an emphasis on developing innovative, practical solutions to transportation problems, CUTR provides high-quality, objective transportation expertise in the form of technical support, policy analysis, and research support that translates directly into benefits for its sponsors. Areas of research include public transportation, transportation planning, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), transportation demand management (TDM), transportation economics and finance, geographic information systems, access management, alternative fuels, and transportation safety, among others. A Teaming Agreement with CUTR provides collaboration and partnership so the Center for Transportation Excellence members and their staff have the best safety, driver, and paratransit training programs available.

| CALSPAN-UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO RESEARCH CENTER (CUBRC) executes Research, Development, Testing and Systems Integration programs in Information Fusion, Medical Biotechnology, Chemical and Biological Defense, Public Health and Safety, Hypersonics, and International Security. Headquartered in Buffalo, New York, CUBRC is committed to generating technological and economic growth. Established in 1983 as an independent, not-for-profit, research corporation, CUBRC combines innovative ideas and technology for the advancement of research in public health and safety. The Center for Transportation Injury Research (CenTIR) was established at CUBRC in 1998 as a cooperative research program of the Erie County Medical Center, the University at Buffalo, and General Dynamics. The CenTIR continues the rich heritage of Buffalo-based research and innovation in automotive crash safety, injury prevention and analysis. The mission of the CenTIR is to perform interdisciplinary research to reduce crash-related injury and death. Focus areas include: automated crash detection and reporting; crash injury modeling and prediction; and pre-hospital emergency medical services. The Center for Transportation Excellencehas established a collaborative partnership with CUBRC to research and develop technologies for improving transportation systems as they relate to mobility management, and vehicle and passenger safety. |
